Overview

Mikhail Petrovich Botkin (1839-1914), Russian painter, engraver and collector (Wikipedia, «Mikhail Botkin»), brother of the physician Sergei Botkin (Botkin). Marie calls him «Michel Botkine» (030.0423, 31 March 1875) and, in Rome, «Botkine, le frère du médecin de l'impératrice … un laid qui s'occupe de peinture» (051.0354, 4 January 1876). Mon Journal indexes: «Botkine (M.), frère du médecin» (t.6), «Botkine (M.), peintre» (t.7, t.8). The t.4 index conflates the brothers («Botkine, (Michel) médecin»).
