Identity

A gentleman of the Spa season of 1874, introduced to the family at the Gambarts' evening of 18 July: «On nous a présenté un comte de Jahal, qui s'est fixé à Pétersbourg» (021.0394); Marie finds that he looks like Brunet grown old. The Tome 4 name index of Mon Journal lists him as «Jahal (comte de)» (OCR «Jahai»), pp. 38–83. First name and origin not known; not identified further.
