Marie gives the same parentage: «sa mère est française (Fitz James) et son père est le duc Salviati second fils du prince Borghèse» (073.0342).

Relevance to Marie

• Florence, May 1877: she watches Gaston's wife at the Cascine (071.0071), in a four-in-hand (071.0215), on the grandstand at the races (071.0232), and overhears her describing Blanche's hair (071.0218). Identity note

The Mon Journal t.10 index calls her «Blanche, comtesse de Larderei, épouse de Gaston, née Salviati», but Blanche is Gaston's sister, Mme de Mirafiore (see Blanche; ledger).
