Comte d'Abzac de la Douze
Також відомий як: comte d Abzac, Comte d'Abzac, Abzac
Overview
A French count who frequents the Bashkirtseffs' Paris salon in February 1878. The Mon Journal t.11 index lists him as «Abzac de la Douze (comte d') : 128, 132, 134, 142, 145, 150», and Marie introduces him as «le comte d'Abzac, cousin du marquis d'Abzac de l'Elysée» (077/1878-02-02, 077.0550): he is therefore not the same man as the marquis d'Abzac, who represented Marshal MacMahon in July 1878.
Relevance to Marie
He is one of the evening callers with Beaurepaire, d'Alt and Daillens (078.0092, 078.0191) and part of the circle in which Marie fears Cassagnac will be seen (078.0293). «Mille d'Abzac !» (078.0231) turns his name into an oath after the Opera ball.
Not the vicomte Paul d'Abzac
The «vicomte d'Abzac» of December 1880 (090.0398) and «Paul d'Abzac», a duel witness on 1 January 1881 (090.0512), are indexed separately («Abzzac d' (vicomte Paul)», t.14) and have their own entry, Vicomte Paul d'Abzac. Whether the 1878 comte and the 1880 vicomte are one man is not known.
