Schettino

Overview

M. Schettino, a Neapolitan skater and society acquaintance of Marie in Naples, April 1877 (carnets 070-071). Mon Journal t.10 index: «Schettino (M.)», pp.113, 118, 122, 126, 132, 145. He was «présenté hier au Skating» on 13 April and left his cards the next day; with Pascarola he guides Marie through the Exposition (070.0586). Marie's verdict on 17 April: he and Marini are not gentlemen, «un avocat et un monsieur, je ne sais quoi qui patinent bien et avec toutes les dames» (070.0673). He nevertheless appears among the guests of the 15 April soirée («Schettino arrive le premier», 070.0620), among the "skaters" she has left on 20 April («Comme patineurs je n'avais que Campomarino et Schettino», 070.0738), and he is still with the party on 27 April (071.0018). No first name, rank or biography is given in the diary or the index.
