Who she is

The daughter of the Argentine M. de Gonzalès Moreno and sister of Rémy de Gonzalès; a childhood companion of Marie at Baden-Baden about 1870: «je me souviens de lui chez Kazaï quand je passais avec Matildita» (016.0312). In Paris on 6 June 1874 Marie distinguishes her from her mother: «Matildita a été très contente de me voir… Madame est aimable mais… je crois qu'elle est encore jalouse de maman» (020.0145); on 27 September 1874 the father drives by «avec Madame, Mathilde et Rémy» (024.0124). In Nice in December 1875 she is «Mlle de Gonzalès» (also «Mlle de Gonzalès-Moreno», 050.1148), to whose box Audiffret goes, to Marie's jealousy (050.0668, 050.0703, 050.0983-0986, 050.1059, 050.1094-1097). In Paris in July 1877 Rémy brings her to Marie (073.0076-0077).

Note on the index

The Mon Journal indexes list «Gonzalès Moreno (Mme Matildita de)» (t.3 pp.74, 220, 234; t.5; t.10) and «Gonzalès Moreno (Mme Mathilde de)» (t.1, t.4), and separately «Gonzalès Moreno (Mlle de)» (t.6, t.8, t.10). The pages of «Mme Matildita» include 016.0312 and 020.0145, where «Matildita» is the girl, not «Madame»; the index's «Mme» is very probably an error (0.85).
