Overview

Louba (Russian Люба, a diminutive of Lyubov), a little girl adopted by Nina Sapogenikoff and living in her household in Nice in 1875–76: «Louba la petite adoptée par Nina» (045.0021, 26 Sep 1875); Mon Journal t.6 index «Louba (adoptée par Nina Sapogenikoff), 6, 40».

References in Diary

  • 1875-04-30 (032.0207): goes to La Belle Hélène with Marie, Olga and Marie Sapogenikoff and ma tante (t.5 index «Louba, 44») — probably the same child (0.8).
  • 1875-09-26 (045.0021): watches the masked prank at Nina's.
  • 1876-05-06 (059.0848) and 1876-05-07 (059.0867): leaves Nice with the Sapogenikoffs; «Louba seule a pleuré».
  • Possibly the «Liouba» taken to Dinorah with Sacha's children Stiopa and Julie on 28 February 1875 (030.0104) (0.5; not tagged there).

Identity uncertain

We are not sure who this is: the diary and the edition give only the first name and the adoption by Nina Sapogenikoff. If you can identify her, we would be glad to hear from you.
