Chislehurst

Overview

Chislehurst, in Kent, where the exiled Napoleon III lived at Camden Place and died in 1873 and where the Empress Eugénie stayed on; a centre of the Bonapartist exiles. In June–July 1879 Marie follows the return of the Prince Imperial's body and his funeral there (085.0530, «C'est cette nuit que le cercueil arrive à Chislehurst»; 085.0569–0570). See also #Camden.
