I remain closeted away, eat well and look after myself perfectly, while Rosalie makes alarming reports to those ladies; I weep — this improvisation is even somewhat sad. Yesterday these creatures devised a dinner so admirable that I ate like a wolf — but Rosalie went and said that still furious, I had thrown everything out of the window onto the vacant lot.
Hier ces êtres ont imaginé un dîner tellement admirable que j’ai mangé comme un loup mais Rosalie est allée dire que toujours furieuse j’ai tout jeté par la fenêtre dans le terrain vague.

I shall first finish the Sèvres painting. Then I shall take up the statue seriously in the morning, and a nude study in the afternoon. The sketch is done as of today. That will carry me to July. In July I begin Evening — a great road without trees, a plain, the road merging with the sky where the sun sets.
Je finirai d’abord le tableau de Sèvres. Puis j’entreprends la statue sérieusement le matin et une étude de nu l’après-midi. L’esquisse est faite d’aujourd’hui. Ça me mènera jusqu’au mois de juillet. En juillet je commence le Soir qui représente un grand chemmin sans arbres, une plaine, le chemin se confond avec le ciel ou le soleil se couche.
