The Princess and her husband; then Engelhardt, la Cerny. While the Princess takes me for a drive in the Bois, the whole Gavini circle arrives — Odette, Valentine, la Linsingen. The table is laid according to custom and food is offered the whole time.
La princesse, son époux puis Engelhardt, la Cerny. Pendant que la princesse m’emmène faire un tour au Bois toute la bande des Gavini, Odette, Valentine, La Linsingen. La table est servie selon l’usage et l’on offre à manger tout le temps.
Then an improvised dinner — the four Karageorgevitchs, du Sautoy, la Bailleul. Everyone is very merry, but I feel as if someone had done something to me; and the good-natured cheerfulness of these young men strikes me as a lack of proper dignity.
Puis dîner improvisé, les quatre Karageorgevitch, du Sautoy, la Bailleul. On est très gai, mais je suis comme si on m’avait fait quelque chose; et la gaîté bon enfant de ces garçons me semble un manque de tenue.
