Blanc arrived in the afternoon and this evening I await Berthe.
"There will be such gossip!" cries the eternal frigate captain. Racing ball this evening, we are going and around midnight Dina and Berthe arrive, who had just time to change her dress. We promenade with our gentlemen with the firm conviction that we are the most chic.
We dance but at one o'clock in the morning some cocottes arrive whom some brutes invite to dance, so we leave the ball. Berthe sleeps in my room which was already half a painting studio.
