Robert-Fleury spoke to me again "from the point of view of a serious artistic future, a future as a talented painter"!
Robert-Fleury m'a encore parlé "au point de vue d'un avenir artistique sérieux, d'un avenir de peintre de talent" !
What unsettles me somewhat is that I have been ordered not to be content with atelier studies, but to make sketches, compositions, from memory, etc.
Ce qui me dérange un peu c'est qu'il m'est ordonné de ne pas me contenter des études de l'atelier, mais de faire des croquis, des compositions, par cœur etc.
I had started off like a machine, and now I must put something of myself into it — have a little independence!
J'étais partie comme une machine et maintenant il faudra y mettre du mien, avoir un peu d'indépendance !
