I was foolish, mad, and improper with Cassagnac. This life is horrible, appalling, atrocious, terrible.
Writing to Collignon, I complain of being a woman, and then I say that people are mistreating my Bonapartists — that one of them wished to present his wife to the Empress, who replied: later. She will certainly be presented in time, but for now it is an indignity.
It is a story I am circulating as far as my slender means allow.
Doenhoff is in Paris — he came to see us.
