When shall we ever leave? Grant, my God, that Maman be well so that we may go!!
It was so fine that I could wear my blue winter dress, which after the Nice one is a blessing and a delight. I took some money and made the rounds of all the food shops, looking for good things. I am so greedy around seven o'clock.
How beautiful the night is! I have just closed the terrace door. The sky was blue, the nearly full moon lit up this beautiful sky admirably, against which the town, the mountains, and our tall palms stood out in black. I gazed at the sky, the moon, the dark mass, and I thought of absolutely nothing -- how happy one is like that.
