quiet indifference, very graceful in a woman.
Berthe having invited herself yesterday to dinner for today we invited those who happened to be there, MM. de Tarente and Turquan. Then Berthe's husband, Bojidar, Alexis and the old Prince. So that we appear to be amusing ourselves and I do believe everyone enjoyed themselves especially the excellent Turquan. Have I told you what the Marquis de Tarente is? He is a very pretty dark young man, cotillion leader, good dancer, excellent family; very nice, very well-launched in society. In short he is one of the rather good specimens of what is produced in this line.
No fortune naturally. Need I tell you that this does not exist for me.
The uncle from Toulouse reads cards in a miraculous way, he divined countless things to Rosalie that no one knew, she was all trembling from it. And every time he does his divination it comes true. Need it be said that the things announced to me are very agreeable?
Competition. And as usual in competitions an ugly model and badly posed.
I was waiting for another more beautiful one to come and did not concern myself with how these rag-pickers had positioned him. The awful women! Can one be so un-artistic, so stupid, so idiotic! Well then! I must rent that studio.
