Yesterday Gavini, Chaudordy and Goldsmid dined with us, the princes arrived in the evening. We spoke much of Gambetta. The former ambassador Chaudordy was his intimate friend but one of the two dropped the other and I suppose it was Gambetta besides... this evening at the Opera (do not imagine that this disturbs my work, until five o'clock I am always at my painting) in the space between the columns Mme Casa-Riera with Casa-Riera, Gavini, Gery and Multedo. The latter is disagreeable to me but old Gery is the friend of Jerome, moreover he offered to introduce me to Emile de Girardin. Yes, but nothing comes of it. I was pretty this evening and very chic, our box was a success.
Hier Gavini, Chaudordy et Goldsmid ont dîné chez nous, les princes sont arrivés le soir. Nous avons beaucoup parlé de Gambetta. L'ancien ambassadeur Chaudordy a été son ami intime mais l'un des deux a lâché l'autre et je suppose que ça a été Gambetta du reste... ce soir à l'Opéra (ne vous imaginez pas que cela dérange mon travail, jusqu'à cinq heures je suis toujours à la peinture) dans l'entrecolonne Mme Casa-Riera avec Casa-Riera, Gavini, Géry et Multedo. Ce dernier m'est désagréable mais le vieux Géry est l'ami de Jérôme, en plus il m'a offert de me présenter Emile de Girardin. Oui, mais rien n'arrive. J'étais jolie ce soir et très chic, notre loge a eu du succès.
