I am already thinking about the invitations we shall send for Saturday the 25th... On the 27th it will be exactly seven months since Cassagnac married, and he must be quite bored if he finds nothing new in his wife.
Je songe déjà aux invitations que nous enverrons pour samedi 25... le 27 il y aura juste sept mois que Cassagnac se sera marié et il doit être bien ennuyé s'il ne voit rien de nouveau chez sa femme.
I do not know why it is a good day, but it makes me feel too keenly how dreary, fatiguing, and desolate the others are. I had grown used to it, and because my life is detestable I detested everything.
Je ne sais pas pourqoi c'est une bonne journée mais elle me fait trop sentir que les autres sont tristes, fatigantes, désolées. J'y étais habituée et parce que ma vie est détestable je détestais tout.
