The inhalations and baths exhaust me enormously, not to mention the journey from Paris to Enghien and back. Then the fittings for dresses, hats, and so on. Back from the shops, I lie on my chaise longue and lull myself with stories.
Soon the chaise longue and I shall form but a single person. And so it has been since the first day of our arrival. Until I have my full arsenal I refuse to show myself. This is to describe the life I lead here — I do not complain of it, if it is good for the throat. Oh yes — almost every day we go to Fauvel's. And that is all. Oh yes — Berthe and her sister-in-law Mme Boyd have called.
