Another unbearable wind. I bought a globe, had the portrait of Boiard delivered, and bought a balance.
I am tired this evening; otherwise I would have described Hitchcock's dressing when she went to the theatre tonight. English old maid!
Even young Englishwomen are detestable in a state of undress. And the old ones. Oh!!!! Ugh!!!
English men are adorable, but the women! An English riding-master has arrived in Nice, with eight English horses, English grooms, and English stable-boys. What a charm, what a pleasure! How I love the English -- even the commons are better than other nations.
