Paul, Arson, and Khalkionoff are an inseparable trinity whose God is Walitsky. These little boys!

Paul, Arson et Khalkionoff sont une trinité inséparable dont le Dieu est Walitsky. Ces petits garçons !

While I was undressing, Dina came to find me and told me, with a great many introductions and prologues and a hundred grimaces, that Khalkionoff wants to court me. Because before he used to wear much pomade and perfume, but this evening they were at Paul's -- Khalkionoff and Dina -- and Paul wanted to perfume Khalkionoff, whereupon the latter, almost in despair, took to flight, crying:

Lorsque je me déshabillais Dina vint me trouver et me raconta avec force d'introductions et prologues et une centaine de grimaces que Khalkionoff veut me plaire. Parce que, avant il mettait beaucoup de pommade et de parfums, mais ce soir ils étaient chez Paul, Khalkionoff et Dina; et Paul voulait parfumer Khalkionoff alors celui-ci presque avec désespoir se mit à fuir en criant:

"No, no, I don't want to."

— Non, non, je ne veux pas.

"I shall not paint myself and I shall not perfume myself" -- repeated.

Je ne me farderai pas et je me parfumerai pas, bis.

A few days ago I expressed a very pronounced disgust for all manner of perfumes. I went downstairs to talk with everyone. In the morning I played croquet; Addy was passing through the garden with her son.

J'ai, il y a quelques jours, exprimé un dégoût très prononcé pour toutes espèces de parfums. Je suis descendue parler avec tous. Le matin j'ai joué au croquet, Addy passait par le jardin avec son fils.

Having gone to bed at twelve, I rise at six only. It is raining (rain cloak, good); to Visconti's and Medecin's -- tomorrow I shall be able to see the hats.

M'étant couchée à douze, je me lève à six heures seulement. Il pleut, (manteau de pluie, bien), chez Visconti et Médecin, demain je pourrai voir les chapeaux.

I am mad, but one day in winter I saw a Black servant bring the carriage to the Duke when he was at her house; shortly after, he came out, and she -- or her carriage. Today I see this same servant and I imagine he is the Duke's man, and that he announces to Gioia the arrival of his master. I am mad, but all this presented itself to my imagination.

Je suis folle, mais un jour en hiver je vis un nègre amener la voiture au duc quand il était chez elle, peu de temps après il sortit, et elle ou sa voiture à elle. Aujourd'hui je vois ce même nègre et je m'imagine que c'est le domestique du duc et qu'il annonce à Gioia l'arrivée de son maître. Je suis folle, mais tout cela s'est présenté à mon imagination.
