Little sunshine, cold. At the promenade (vicuna garment, but badly) — almost no one, but a better sort of people, none of those detestable Nice locals. Audiffret à cheval, c'est un événement de le voir, on ne voit personne. Quand on pense comme il y a des canailles ! Le vieux Audiffret refuse de payer à Mme Mortier pour deux ans, disant qu'il n'a jamais rien pris. C'est une infamie avec un de attaché au nom, cela fait de la peine quand on entend de pareilles choses. Mais peut-être ça n'est pas ainsi.

Hier et aujourd'hui, moi et Mlle Collignon nous avons rêvé la même chose hier, que nous sauvions quelqu'un des eaux, aujourd'hui, que la fin du monde devait arriver dans une dizaine d'années et toutes nous la pleurions. Comme c'est étrange !

Mme Savelieff et Mme Patton ont rêvé toutes les deux la même chose: qu'il fallait demander à la grande-duchesse Constantin quoi faire pour guérir Mme Savelieff et Mme Savelieff a encore rêvé que la duchesse a dit qu'il fallait la masser quand, frappée d'un tel rêve Mme Patton est allée demander chez la duchesse, elle lui a dit qu'il fallait masser. Si je me laissais aller j'aurais cru que la fin du monde arrive. Non, non, quant aux rêves de ces dames, je ne crois rien de fabuleux, mais que c'est envoyé par Dieu ! Je crois cela fermement.
