Rain at intervals, the rest grey. To church (black dress, grey jacket) — not many people. Then to the music — myself, Dina, and Emile; the rest in Monaco (black velvet dress, Dina's hat). A great many people, but after a few minutes of music it began to rain, and the music stopped, and the carriages dispersed. We took a few turns around town. My God, how sad this weather is — not only does it deprive me of seeing Boreel, whom I have not seen for three days, but it prevents me from seeing and being seen by others.
I no longer dare to hope or even to ask to see Hamilton, and if I saw him it would seem like a dream — it seems impossible to me; it is too great a happiness.
I mixed up the dates; I was a day behind.
