To the promenade (black dress, grey jacket) — quite a lot of people. I saw Boreel only once, talking on foot with Nastia.
Mlle Collignon is ill. At six o'clock I went to fetch Maman at the station. In the evening to the French Theater (blue dress) to see "Ismene," "The Flute Player" — an opera bouffe in one act — and "The Servants" in three acts; the last piece was very good. Not many people at the theater. In a ground-floor box, Mme and Mlle Bravura — behind Mademoiselle sat the prince who was courting her. They seemed so happy. I envy them; I should like to have the Duke of Hamilton. I wish he loved me. Oh! why do I never see him? How I wish I could — but quite alone.
