At the promenade (green dress, grey jacket). It is raining and yet there are people about.
I was heading toward the public gardens.
And the Duke of Hamilton was coming that way. I saw him at once. He was with someone.
I could not look at him. I blushed. I turned away and stayed behind Mlle Collignon to hide my blush.
He wore a brown hat and a white rain coat.
I saw him for only a single minute, but he is handsome and I love him...
The other one has paled before him. He is nothing anymore. But the Duke of Hamilton is everything. I asked God to let me see him more often. He granted it to me. What happiness!
If only He could grant me the other favors I ask of Him — such as not blushing when I see him!
