Hôtel de la Paix (Florence)

Overview

The hotel on the Lungarno where the Bashkirtseffs stayed in Florence from 29 April to 12 May 1877. A UCL Special Collections record says the Grand Hôtel de la Paix opened in 1866, when Florence was the capital, was one of the hotels along the Lung'Arno in the 1870s, and later became the Grand Hotel de New York, Lungarno Corsini (UCL Special Collections, GASTER/1/A/2/208). Not the Nice hotel of the same name (Hôtel de la Paix).
