Overview

«Alfred», the Paris dressmaker and tailor from whom Marie orders her riding habit (amazone) in June 1874. Princess Souvoroff recommended him «un tailleur pour amazone, à côté de nous» (the family was at the hôtel Scribe) when they met on the promenade (020.0189, 9 June 1874). Mon Journal indices: t.3 «Alfred, maison de couture, 228, 231, 236»; t.4 «Alfred, maison de couture, 8». His surname and address are not given.

• 1874-06-09 (020.0189, Paris): recommended by Princess Souvoroff, who rides with M. Zveguinzoff.
• 1874-06-13 (020.0238): Marie goes with her mother, who tells him the story of Dusautoy; «Il va me faire une amazone»; he also dresses Princess Souvoroff, who left the day before at five in the morning «presque en cachette, on croit qu'elle a des dettes».
• 1874-06-16 (020.0299): «Alfred m'essaye l'amazone.»
• 1874-07-07 (021.0035): «Alfred a expédié...» (the order is sent off).
