Lord Henry Paget (Marquess of Anglesey)

Overview

Henry Paget (25 December 1835 – 13 October 1898), styled Lord Paget, succeeded as 4th Marquess of Anglesey on 30 January 1880. He married three times: Elizabeth Norman; Blanche Mary Boyd, of the Boyd sisters of the Baden-Baden and Paris set, in 1874 (she died in 1877); and in 1880 the American widow Mary «Minna» Livingston King (en.wikipedia «Henry Paget, 4th Marquess of Anglesey»). Mon Journal t.13 index: «Anglesey d' (marquis, lord Paget)»; t.14 «Anglesey (d', marquis)». The older note here that he was «Lord Henry Cyril Paget, future 5th Marquess» was wrong: the 5th Marquess (born 1875) was his son.

• 26 January 1874: «Blanche Boyd se marie avec lord Henry Paget. Enfin je pensais qu'elle ne se marierait jamais, ou mal. Comme elle a de la chance» (016.0006).
• 26 March 1876: of the Boyds, «Blanche qui a épousé lord Henry Paget qui sera marquis d'Anglesey, après la mort de son oncle» (055.1221).
• 22 July 1876: the Boyds have a house in London «depuis le splendide mariage de Blanche Boyd ... avec lord Paget qui sera marquis d'Anglesey» (064.0049).
• 14 December 1881: of another Boyd daughter, «l'ex-mari de sa sœur, le marquis d'Anglesey et sa nouvelle femme la présentant partout» (094.0068); Blanche had died in 1877 and he had remarried in 1880.
