I had promised long ago to call on Carolus, and this morning I remember the promise. He receives on Thursday mornings, so we go. This charming man is wearing a garnet velvet doublet and has been sketching out some Spanish step or other while a friend played the guitar. I played the organ, and he sang, then the friend.J'avais promis il y a longtemps d'aller voir Carolus et c'est ce matin que je me rappelle de cette promesse. Il reçoit le jeudi matin. Nous y allons donc. Ce charmant homme est en pourpoint de velours grenat et il a ma foi esquissé je ne sais quel pas espagnol pendant qu'un ami jouait de la guitare. Du reste j'ai joué de l'orgue et il chante, puis l'ami.
