A sitting, then Tony comes to dinner, and afterwards Tchoumakoff, Agathe, Géry. We talk politics — this ministry gives rise to all manner of amusing things... And a sketch made this morning of a rag-picker I stopped as she was passing is found to be good.
Tony finds it good. It is before me and I look at it; Tony says to leave it alone even though it is scarcely indicated, and to make another, fully worked up. When by chance I produce something tolerable, it sends me into a childlike rapture.
I love myself.
