Our atelier is becoming like the men’s, which is to say we shall have figure drawing all day, the same model in the same pose; consequently one will be able to paint large studies. For two or three months already I have needed this; before, it would have served no purpose, but I am ready for this work. We are only eight; the other students, numbering twenty-two, have moved to the new atelier that Julian has set up at 51 rue Vivienne, where the organisation is as in our old one.Notre atelier devient comme celui des hommes, c’est-à-dire que nous aurons l’académie toute la journée, le même modèle, dans la même pose; par conséquent on pourra peindre de grands morceaux, il y a déjà deux ou trois mois que j’ai besoin de cela; avant cela n’aurait servi à rien, mais je suis à point pour ce travail. Nous ne sommes que huit, les autres élèves au nombre de vingt-deux ont passé dans le nouvel atelier que Julian a arrangé 51 rue Vivienne et où l’organisation est comme dans notre ancien.

Yesterday Berthe lunched at our house with her baby, then the Tchoumakoffs arrived, old Mme Mouzay and Saint-Amand, whom we took to the Bois. In the evening I received a letter from Daillens in which she begs me to take care of myself.
Hier Berthe a déjeuné chez nous avec bébé, puis sont arrivés les Tchoumakoff, la mère Mouzay et Saint Amand que nous avons emmenés au Bois. Le soir j’a reçu de Daillens une lettre où elle me prie de me soigner.
