I went to Krishaber's to have my throat electrified.
[One and a half lines cancelled]
His wife came afterward. They are going to have an unpublished comedy performed at their home.
Mme de Bailleul, Filippini, and Berthe during the rehearsal, and then poor Mouzay brings two fans for Dina and me.
Tarente and Courtes are tiresome; they belong to the category of uncivilized Frenchmen who think there is only one lamp lit in the universe and that this lamp is in Paris. You understand that it does not amuse me to feel that these two idiots consider me somewhat as a foreigner come here to get married. These American women have ruined everything! What wonder that one is confused with tallow merchants arrived in Paris, dressed in expensive fashion houses and seeking a title. Well!
Gabriel seems preoccupied, and this troubles me. Fortunately he is leaving Tuesday or Wednesday. He says he only stayed for our comedy.
I spend the evening making Soutzo rehearse.
