This evening Hecht offered us a stage box at the Opera. The premiere of "la Muette" and a very elegant house for September. I am of an astonishing simplicity, I am posing for simplicity and close-fitting styles, especially the bodice because my assets are of an exquisite form and very dainty... I am talking nonsense... it is half past two in the morning... Hecht had sent his stall seat to Joseph and Joseph did not come to the theater. It is as if there were no one because I was thinking of this little fool while dressing. Hecht wants to give us a dinner at his house with radicals. But Gambetta is not in Paris.

Ce soir Hecht nous a offert une avant-scène à l'Opéra. La première de "la Muette" et une salle très élégante pour septembre. Je suis d'une simplicité *épatante,* je pose pour la simplicité et les moulages, surtout le corsage parce que mes avantages sont d'une forme exquise et très mignons... Je dis des bêtises...c'est qu'il est deux heures et demie du matin... Hecht avait envoyé son fauteuil à Joseph et Joseph n'est pas venu au théâtre. C'est comme s'il n'y avait personne parce que je pensais à ce petit sot en m'habillant. Hecht veut nous faire un dîner chez lui avec des radicaux. Mais Gambetta n'est pas à Paris.

Da Costa and Hecht stayed outside and we brought Alexis with us and we stayed together, Dina, he and I until now.

Da Costa et Hecht sont restés dehors et nous avons amené Alexis avec nous et nous sommes restés ensemble, Dina, lui et moi jusqu'à présent.

Berthe has left and he replaces her for us but as his name begins with an A he amuses me. His beard grows like Arnaud's.

Berthe est partie et il nous la remplace mais comme son nom commence par un A il m'amuse. Sa barbe pousse comme celle d'Arnaud.
