My life drawing pleased Julian — and not Jullien — so greatly that he said it was quite astonishing, extraordinary, and prodigious for a beginner.
Mon académie a semblé si bien à Julian et non pas Jullien, qu'il a dit que c'était tout à fait étonnant, extraordinaire et prodigieux pour une commençante.
— But just look whether it is not astonishing — there are planes, the torso is not bad, and it is well proportioned — truly, for a beginner...
