I have begun my cure at Enghien. We go at nine o'clock and are back by noon. So it will be every day.
At last — perhaps for the first time in my life — I am somewhere for a reason. I need no longer torment myself: why am I staying in Paris, why in Naples, in Florence, and so on. I am staying in Paris for my voice.
Mme de Mouzay dined with us. She is quite besotted with these fifth-floor receptions of hers, with all those people… that sort of salon… and the poor woman wants to be majestic, which makes her disagreeable.
