We go to the concert and Audiffret passes with his etceteras a hundred times on foot, looking straight ahead — and we were in the front row, so it was very close.
Thank God I do not blush for this nincompoop.
In the evening I have a box taken at the theater. They are giving a very amusing piece, Les trois chapeaux, and Ravel is performing — and then too I want to see what the man in question will do. For this afternoon he ran after us to the baths, then went away, then came back quite red just as we were leaving, and on seeing this, he left behind us and we met again at the concert.
I am in white at the theater — as always, for that matter. Even in winter I had that white cloth dress. It is my favourite colour.
Well — the little impertinent does not stir! On our leaving before the end, we saw him go out and make almost at a run for the Cercle.
O Venus, confound this wretch!
