Dimanche, 18 octobre 1874 A la musique rien presque. Le soir nous allons au théâtre voir les Beni Yang-Yang, troupe arabe. Je suis en gris comme à la Promenade et nous avons la loge de Lewin, la première au premier. Le public est un public de dimanche, Galula le gentil Niçois est venu nous voir dans notre loge.
At the music, almost nothing. In the evening we go to the theatre to see the Beni Yang-Yang, an Arab troupe. I am in grey as on the Promenade, and we have the Lewins' box, the first on the first tier. The audience is a Sunday audience. Galula, the pleasant local, came to see us in our box.
The Yang-Yang are rather amusing and do quite extraordinary things. Fortune is at the theatre — Maman wanted him to see his look-alikes.
