Alfred has dispatched... I wrote two letters, one furious and insolent to my aunt, the other sweet and grateful to Papa. I should think so! My aunt is withholding the thousand francs that Papa is giving me!
Alfred a expédié... J’ai écrit deux lettres, une furieuse et impertinente à ma tante, l’autre douce et remerciante à papa. Je crois bien ! ma tante retient les mille francs que papa me donne !

« Il y avait dans sa démarche quelque chose de la légère majesté d’un dieu ». Je trouve cela applicable à Notlimah, une des divinités égyptiennes.
We dined at La Sauveniere -- myself, Maman, Walitsky, and Paul in a caleche, Dina and the little young man on horseback. The little young man is a delicate young man, pale, having and he disgusts me. I can barely tolerate him. He is a well-bred child. But what does that matter to me, since he disgusts me? Yet it appears he does not think of me what I think of him.
Nous avons dîné à La Sauvenière, moi, maman, Walitsky et Paul en calèche, Dina et le petit jeune homme à cheval. Le petit jeune homme est un jeune homme délicat, pâle, ayant des et me dégoûte. Je le supporte à peine. C’est un enfant bien élevé. Mais qu’est-ce que ça me fait puisqu’il me dégoûte, mais il paraît qu’il ne pense pas de moi ce que je pense de lui.
