At the concert, there was much talk of the Duke of Hamilton.

This evening, at the French Theatre: La joie de la maison, Le chapeau de paille,1 with Ravel.2

A great many people. My pretty blue dress was much admired. I drew fortune slips and tucked them into my glove. I opened them at home. Here is what they said: Palace in London. You will go to the races. You will be Duchess of Hamilton. In England, Scotland. In Paris, boredom. I love you. You will make his acquaintance!

Beaucoup de monde. Ma jolie robe bleue est très remarquée. J'ai tiré des billets et les ai mis dans le gant. Je les ai ouverts à la maison. Voilà ce qu'ils donnent: Palais à Londres.
