Mme Crémieux
Також відомий як: Mme Crémieux, Mme Cremieux
Overview
A Parisian society woman whom Marie meets at the soirées of Mme de Mouzay in the spring of 1880. She is named only as «Mme Crémieux», twice, and nothing is said about her beyond her presence.
In Marie's diary
- 1880-04-26 (088.0024, Paris): «Plusieurs connaissances mais c'est endormant, Mme Crémieux, les Mouzay, sa mère.» A dull musical evening with amateur performers.
- 1880-05-26 (088.0370): at another Mouzay soirée, with Louis Énault and his wife, Julian and Gaillard on the balcony: «Mme Crémieux et le député radical avec sa famille. La jeune Marianne se lie avec moi.»
The Mon Journal index (t.13) lists «Crémieux (Mme) : 228, 260», with no first name.
Identity uncertain
The company (a Republican deputy and his family, a «Marianne») would suit the widow of Adolphe Crémieux, the Republican statesman who died on 10 February 1880, and the earlier file for him assumed so. The diary does not say it, the index gives no first name, and Crémieux is a common name among Parisian families of the period; the identification is possible but not established (about 0.5), so the two tags are kept apart from CREMIEUX.
