On 17 February 1878 Marie and her friends sent Kolémine and his companion ahead to the Café Anglais, promising to follow in ten minutes, ordered her favourite dishes and went home: «Kolémine mené comme un chien toute la soirée en sera pour un souper dans le Grand-16 et un affront devant les garçons» (078.0209).
