On 2 October 1874, rising «bien portante et fraîche», she goes without a hat to the Promenade «où il n'y a pas une âme; je vais regarder les villas Léon et Gioia, les fenêtres de cette dernière sont ouvertes, Paul est avec moi» (024.0187). The RSR note on that paragraph places both villas on the Promenade des Anglais; the diary itself does not say. See Villa Gioia. Not to be confused with the demi-mondaine Rosalie Léon.
