Overview

A man of Roman society whom Marie calls «Bog». She gives his real name only once: «Bog, comte de Pominsky de son vrai nom, lance plus que jamais ses œillades. Cette bête impertinente ne manque pas d'agrément» (068/1877-01-05). The Mon Journal t.9 index has two entries, «Bog : 73» and «Pominsky (comte Bog) : 249». Nothing further is known, and the diary does not explain the nickname.

Relevance to Marie

  • 13 September 1876, in Kharkov, talking of Rome with Domenica and Lola: «un instant je me crus au Corso au milieu des bouquets, de Bog, d'Antonelli» (066.0196), probably a memory of the Roman carnival of 1876 (bouquets thrown on the Corso).
  • New Year 1877 in Rome: in the passage on the Pincio drive of 1 January, «entre une double haie d'hommes», she notes that Bog «lance plus que jamais ses œillades» (068/1877-01-05).
