We are not sure who this is. The diary names him only as one of «quatre célébrités» (with Bastien-Lepage, his brother, and Gervex) at Mme Cartwright's on 24 January 1882 (094.0205); the Mon Journal t.14 index has «Mencker (M.)» with no description. We searched the indexes of Mon Journal t.14 and the web for an artist of this name in that circle without result; the name may be a spelling variant. On 24 January 1882 Marie, invited to meet «une femme entretenue» whom some say not to visit, finds «il n'y a que Bastien, son frère, Gervex et Mencker, quatre célébrités», and the evening is spent drawing sketches of each other in Cartwright's album (094.0205).
