The King of Spain, arrived on an official visit, has been booed, whistled at, insulted, threatened by the crowd. Grévy has been rather dishonest. And the reason? The King has just been made a Prussian colonel by the Emperor — of the 15th Uhlans, quartered at Strasbourg. A mischief of M. de Bismarck's, and one I find very amusing.
Le roi d'Espagne arrivé officiellement a été hué, sifflé, insulté, menacé par le peuple. Grévy a été assez malhonnête. Et la raison ? C'est que le roi vient d'être fait colonel prussien par l'empereur, du 1 5ème Uhlan caserné à Strasbourg. Une malice de M. de Bismark et que je trouve très drôle.
