We are in the midst of the upheaval of apartments, studios, etc. — to such a degree that I wrote to Tony asking him to come and decide whether the gallery in question could serve as a studio. This charming man came, and we visited two premises as a family.# Jeudi 1er juin 1882
Only we are no further advanced for it, because he is as indecisive as we are; but he is an altogether charming fellow, kind, good, very good — a bit of an old maid! Corrected by the artist, though. Julian will have to give his opinion as a practical man. Tony is sensible, kind, amiable — but not sufficiently decisive; a little womanish.
Seulement nous ne sommes pas plus avancés pour ça car il est aussi flottant que nous; mais c'est un garçon tout à fait charmant, gentil, bon, très bon; un peu vieille-fille ! mais corrigé par l'artiste; il faudra que Julian donne son avis d'homme pratique. Tony est sensé, gentil, aimable, mais pas assez décidé; un peu femme.
