I have been back to Monaco to hear Faure again — otherwise I do not go out, working all the time. Bojidar draws beside me, in the evenings too.
Papa found at Monaco a nephew, M. Savine, who has just lost 125,000 francs in two days.
He lunched with us the other day, still very flush, and today completely cleaned out — but apparently he is very rich. He is a tall, fair young man, rather handsome, of the best society as far as I could tell. He produced on Dina, and especially on me, a curious effect — I cannot say exactly what, but it is a strange impression.
I would need to stay two months more here, and longer; so many things to do!... And to begin with, one finds that without searching I have three or four things to do now. And to think that I wasted a month... No! It is better not to say so, it brings bad luck... I was going to say that every day I see further... That is to say, at the beginning I saw nothing, and now at last... I... I see nature differently, I am beginning to... in short, I feel. Ah, no.
