Useless dramas. Everything is settled; on Saturday reassuring telegrams were received. There is nothing serious. Old Bashkirtseff proposes to Paul, as soon as Maman has arrived, to go and ask for the hand of the infanta officially, to efface the scandal.

Drames inutiles. Tout est arrangé, samedi on a reçu des dépêches rassurantes. Il n'y a rien de grave. Le père Bashkirtseff propose à Paul, dès que maman sera arrivée, d'aller demander la main de l'infante officiellement pour effacer le scandale.

Soutzo sent superb asparagus surrounded by flowers. I am so afraid of what Tony will say; it seems to me so presumptuous of me to exhibit, although Julian said that if there were only exhibitors of my caliber it would be very fortunate.

Soutzo a envoyé de superbes asperges entourées de fleurs. J'ai si peur de ce que dira Tony, il me semble que c'est si présomptueux à moi d'exposer bien que Julian ait dit que s'il n'y avait que des exposants de ma force ce serait bien heureux.

Il me semble que je serai anéantie de honte quand il viendra voir le tableau, je ne sais pas si j'oserai, pourtant je ne pourrai donc pas m'en aller s'il vient. C'est incroyable que ce soit moi qui dise cela et voyez pourtant ! Si je dirais cela tout haut on croirait que je blague.
