Tchernicheff to lunch; he is passing through. There are several who come and go and leave. I tell you this to explain certain names you see appearing irregularly.
Tchernicheff à déjeuner, il est de passage ici. Il y en a plusieurs qui vont qui viennent et qui s'en vont. Je vous dis cela pour vous expliquer certains noms que vous voyez d'une façon pas suivie.
Julian came to see my painting; he is very pleased with it. He spoke of it to Tony, who is very, very busy but who will come with pleasure when I have him called. Soutzo sends me an immense monumental basket of flowers and fruits topped by a plant. Julian stays for dinner, and we stay chatting until midnight.
Julian est venu voir mon tableau, il en est très content. Il en a parlé à Tony qui est très très occupé mais qui viendra avec plaisir quand je le ferai appeler. Soutzo m'envoie une immense corbeille monumentale de fleurs et de fruits surmontée d'une plante. Julian reste dîner et nous restons à causer jusqu'à minuit.
