I had written to M. d'Aspremont for that good Tchoumakoff and here is his reply, [missing] I want to send something to Nice under a nom de guerre of course and I am getting down to it this very morning. This evening I began to model a piece of bas-relief from the Parthenon frieze. It is from today that I begin sculpture.
J'avais écrit à M. d'Aspremont pour ce brave Tchoumakoff et voici sa réponse, [manque] J'ai envie d'envoyer quelque chose à Nice sous un nom de guerre bien entendu et je m'y mets dès ce matin. Ce soir j'ai commencé à modeler un morceau de bas-relief de la frise du Parthénon. C'est d'aujourd'hui que je commence la sculpture.
My painting must be ready a week from Saturday.
Il faut que mon tableau soit prêt samedi en huit.
