After the correspondence of Père Émile of Misery and cord, here is a real letter from Cimiez that I receive. It is a reply such as you can judge for yourself. I laughed a great deal, I assure you.
Prince Doria and his brother are here. We have met them several times on the stairs and at luncheon. If I were not so little favoured by fate, one of these two imbeciles might fall in love with me. Such things happen, and often. Don Alfonso was once mad about Robenson. No — truly I have no luck; that is all. One must blame no one.
We looked at apartments. We have the carriage again, and the coachman, and Chocolat in livery. My complexion is better.
Here is another convent letter — from the women's side.
I am not badly dressed, awkward and ugly as I was in Naples.
What indecision, my God!
